I heard there was gathering of a Bevy of Buzzard's on Monday at the St aib home on Grayhackle. Attended by the Buzzardress at 499 and several BOD's. Anyone know what got their feathers in a flap? Could it be the additional equipment added to the home on Grayhackle and reported here on the Forum by an astute observer? Or is the buy - out of KCNetwork in jeopardy? Do note that there were additional players also in on that meeting as observed by neighbors.

Probably knowing they are going to get their ASSES kicked in court by the residents' attorneys who are TOP DRAWER--Not the bottom feeders they have as mouthpieces...

BOD is mindlessly following the advice of two law firms comprising at least 4 named lawyers with the blind belief that they will be protected from prosecution individually (and thus, not be covered by the D & O insurance).
The lawyers are familiar with "dirty tricks" and will pull them all out. Extensions is a common way to try to outlast your opponent by driving them crazy, broke or hoping that they die. Extensions are advantageous to the party which seeks one. I am informed in Florida Civil Procedure that extensions must be by mutual agreement by BOTH sides or, if denied, the seeking party can file a Motion with the judge. The Motion must show reasonable cause for the requested delay. "The dog ate my homework" is not just cause. But, ultimately, it is up to the judge and some are more tolerant of extensions than others.
TO the Collective YOU--only YOU can stop the madness! The power is in the Ballot or RECALL of the Board. These are the only solutions that can be lawfully undertaken. BOD seems deaf to public opinion (but apparently cared enough to shut down workshops and details of Owner Comments in the Minutes).
The BOD is beyond reason and compassion. Make no mistake, the Management Company lawyers are running the show in S-bag-though BOD will protest that this is not so until the finger-pointing starts. BOD pays the lawyers from SLohA Member contributions to represent their interests--not ours.
Most owners, I hear, do not want to get involved.
Hang in there Lra and Gngr--you have many friends in S-bag who ARE willing to get involved at some level and that number is slowly growing to encompass people you never met! I believe it is only a matter of time--or one monster event involving money--before dozing owners "wake up".
In the difficult meantime, your friends offer you any assistance you need, the comfort of their compassion and the warmth of their love.

Gngr Astn is now back at home (66 Silversides) after nearly succumbing to blood poisoning caused by a major Lupus Flare that weakened her heart and caused blood backwash through her heart into her bloodstream. A most grueling experience for all. 5 specialists had to be called in to determine her prognosis and point of origin for the septic condition. The trigger for all that she suffered has been medically pinpointed to the extreme stress she has faced through the ongoing lawsuit being pursued by our current Board of Directors. Not one of them is willing or capable of voting independently. The unanimous votes cast time and time again shows that all issues are decided before Board meetings and based on an agenda not privy to the members. So, we continue into another year of misleadership and pain. Will YOU be their next victim?

Owners are already a victim--a victim of a cruel group of egotistical elder punks now strong-arming membership for MORE money to continue their mindless vendetta against owners for control of behavior and desperate retention of the governance structure--financing more and more lawsuits which they will very likely lose.
Here is what was NOT said at the Budget Meeting about the numbers. People did question the legal costs and one Very Important Question was asked and Not Answered--this was the question about an exit strategy i.e. "what plans are in place to limit the financial damage already done and prevent incurring future legal costs?"
The amount spent in this fiscal year, as of Sept--that's halfway through the current budget fiscal period--is $25,386. The amount projected to be spent during the 2nd half of our budget year is DOUBLE that--$50,773! They are asking for another $50,000 for next year! And, if next year is like THIS year, the budget will double next year as well. Even without a doubling next year, that means $100,000+ in legal fees that Owners are pulling out their wallets to pay to lawyers to service the BOD agenda! In 2013, the budget was $7100. This is a meteoric rise in legal fees and a very lucrative situation for Management Company's attorneys.
Add to that the $5000 wanted in the Liens/Foreclosures Line item--totally unwarranted! SLohA has only spent $993 on lawyers fees to file ONE lien this year. And SLohA has no governing authority to foreclose--so there should be no costs associated with foreclosure. And, if SLohA attempts to foreclose and are judicially cH allenged, they will cause yet another lawsuit!
The $5000 owners are being asked to approve goes into the general legal fee bucket fund. Prediction: So will the $15,000 Contingency Fund go to legal fees.
And nobody has any answers on how to change MANBOD behavior to contain these costs in the future. No Strategy. No clue!
They only know "what it is today...? How's that for an executive long-range planning talent in this Management Company?
And here's the cherry on top: when owners ask about the lawsuits--they are told NOTHING. BOD hides behind the "lawyer excuse". So owners are being asked for more and more money to finance, at great cost, disputes which they are not permitted to know anything about!

To all who may read the budget and ask the question: "What is the lawsuit about?" Please stop by 66 Silversides and all documents on the lawsuit will be furnished to you.
We, the owners of 66 Silversides have no hidden agenda and all is of public record through Polk County. So please do not accept the Board's answer--- "No comment." You have a right to know.

This is an open letter to the SLohA Board of Directors.
Dear SLohA Board of Directors,
Please take note that the lying, slanderous, misleading statements made by your representative, Clifford Jnsn, President of SLohA to the Florida Commission on Human Relations is being pursued with formal legal action.
Clifford Jnsn acting on the behalf of the Board has done irreparable harm to my family name, my integrity and my character, by misleading a State Investigator with lies and omissions not only about facts in the case, but also about his own actions and denials. Further, in a court of law Mr. Jnsn ' s emotional harm he personally inflicted on Ms. Astn will be brought forward.
I am sorry that the Board has chosen to inflict further pain and grief on not only myself, but on all owners/residents of S-bag Lake Resort.
