This is a job that was poorly done I have looked at this man's concrete work and found he doesn't do quality work due to lack of knowledge or he just does not care .Anyway the curb put at my house for water deflection is a waste of time and money..It took them weeks after they tore the old curb out to replace it..Then they came and put the new curb on top of the old road that was under neath the new road ..Being in construction business myself I know that this was a piss poor job no footer no uniform to the curb..There is a 6 inch drop off the back of the curb they never back filled it and left me with all the mess.. I never said nothing the first 3 times they replaced it and left their stinking mess all over my yard.. I had enough of stupid people trying to fix things when their own lives are a mess that the first sign of poor management .. Self evident our board must of had something else on their mind when they hired this management company .. It sure looks neat and clean but it's a deception anything can look good but it will not hold water.. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

I like to be wrong on this but I am not.. Mr. Second Hand Millionaire--you are so right--this is typical of the work being done in here--I need to ask, was it Tukker paving & construction co. that did this? If so, it matches the rest of the curbing (as well as the piss poor paving job) they did in SLR. I can tell you about a lot of other damages that contractors have done in this resort, but they're too numerous to list--even when told about these damages, the management and board did nothing. Even if you did complain about your crappy curbing, it wouldn't do any good.

I am sorry that you have another problem not of your own making to deal with. I hope that SLohA will fix this to your satisfaction though, as you observed, you will probably be having the problem as long as it is not dealt with professionally. It looks like the same thing that destroyed the asphalt mounds will also degrade and destroy the concrete mounds which do not have any support.
There is another aspect to this curb that was brought up by someone who doesn't even LIVE in SLR! That is, retired folks are out in the early hours of dawn and at sunset and do not have a keen sense of vision and declining reflexes that might be a problem in low light situations. Also, there is the inevitable distraction of seeing a friend or avoiding a squirrel or bunny and not watching the road. If a resident should run into one of these curbs, people could trip, be catapaulted from bicycles or even golfcarts if hitting them fast enough. In this age population, falling is a serious matter and broken bones do not heal quickly or easily.
This visitor asked "Were curbs and drains designed by professional engineers taking the residents needs and limitations into consideration?"

The manager will hire contractors and paint it green & yellow.

This visitor asked "Were curbs and drains designed by professional engineers taking the residents needs and limitations into consideration?" YES! All of these irregular curbs put in by Tukker not only look like crap, but most are IN the road and cause trip hazards. I know, I've had too many near accidents almost tripping over those damn irregular, haphazardly done curbs several times while walking at night. The piss-poor paving was bad enough, but when they added these ugly, irregular and haphazardly placed asphalt curbs, it looks like a cheap-ass trailer court. Every bit of the asphalt curbing was put in rough; no form; they vary in height and width, most are in the road, and are highly irregular in shape and form and just plain downright ugly. I just can't understand why/how the board and management allowed this type of curbing to be put in in that manner. It's obvious that the contractor doing the curbing didn't follow any type of specifications whatsoever.

hey Dick I am so glad we have some people of knowledge in hear.. You really know what you are talking about on the compaction of the lifts before top coating..I wish someone is listen to you ..I know the bid process is not fair here..They need to hire someone to write a spec for paving curbing sewer water etc... There is no spec so we have no way of compliance of the spec.. Can not enforce something that is not there.. That's like the board they are not there from what I can see..Just saying..
