I heard a comment at The Special BOD Meeting in April, from a gray hair BOD seated on the St age. It was not Take a Hike. It was: If You Do Not Like It in SLR, Then Move Out. This could only be heard from the left side of the first row.

At above I have a grey haired bod on dvd saying "why would I want to talk to you" along with other nasty comments and with a very nasty attitude as well .
Want to wager its the same one ? Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Yes, it seems that there are bod members who only want to reply to TRUTHFUL STATEMENTS with asinine, infantile comments such as "take a hike" or "if you don't like it, move out," this is the only thing their Sm all minded mentalities can come up with when they are confronted with the TRUTH when it is spoken by those smarter than they are.
Then you have their brownnoser followers who rudely interrupt speakers at meetings with equally infantile comments such as: "shut up," "sit down," or "get a life." These brainwashed "followers" have obviously eaten and digested all the lies these bod members have told them, only to regurgitate their twisted thought processes in the form of those above comments at meetings like ill-programmed robots seeking approval from the bod mother ship...

There is a lot of anger being expressed here and there is massive distrust that is making the road to resolution of the covenants expiration nearly impassible.
Can we try once again to stay on point with this topic and set aside the animosity towards MANBOD? For the time being, they are the elected leaders and we must abide with their decisions.
Covenants expiration is far more important to the future well-being of SLR than calling out disagreeable personalities and angry feelings. Without a doubt, people in here have been mean-spirited towards anyone who questions the status quo. I would ask that those who wish to discuss this issue take the higher road and not be a party to a slugfest.
Thanks for listening to my point of view. S u e

Their decisions have not been good ones how can you put any trust in that ?
Leadership without accountability is the downfall of this community but not all the blame goes to the leaders of today.

Very good point. And being the devil's advocate for a moment, one could argue that those represented by BOD do not have the same facts at hand nor are compelled to commit to a decision as is the BOD and they are doing best they can. We cannot possibly know how any Board will perform when we elect them and can only hope that the checks and balances of the system will overcome flaws in individual competencies. (Isn't bad business judgement the foundation for our motto "Git 'er done..TWICE"?)
What is not trusted is the PROCESS. When decisions are made by email and street cliques and dues-paying owners ignored or worse and end up paying for never-ending "do overs", it is not just a personnel problem. When leaders retaliate against reasonable and thoughtful dissent with targeted vandalism, intimidation and stalking women out walking the dog, there is something very wrong with the governing process and its practitioners. When owners have nowhere to go for intelligent, respectful conversation of disagreements, you get frustration and rage, as we are seeing now.
The leaders of today sprung from the leaders of yesterday and from what I have been able to see, there was plenty playing "fast and loose" with the laws governing SLohA before the 2000's. It is the PROCESS and ATTITUDE that has destroyed the trust and eroded the quality of this community--not the actual decisions made--the attitude of arrogant disregard for others and toxic governing process of secrecy and exclusion.
This downward spiral of civility and empathy for others will be the seeds of destruction of the delicate fabric of social order which is ultimately based-not on police power and lawyers- but on goodwill towards our fellow man.

The above post pretty much says it all at this point in time; and when is the manbod going to stop lying to everyone? I'd have to say never; now, how can we trust them when they have continued to lie to residents in here; even at recent meetings? Unfortunately, we must trust these people for a few more years, since that's how long these bod's are going to be holding office; the only thing we can hope for is if they step down. I am not at comfortable with this present bod's having an official hand in re-writing the CC & R's.

Trust is not freely given to those acting in a fiduciary capacity; it must be earned through continued demonstrations of honesty and integrity. We take it for granted that elected leaders will fulfill their fiduciary duty. When it has been betrayed, it is nearly impossible to restore. Indeed, breach of trust (fiduciary duty) is one of the few reasons why D&O insurance will be declined by insurance companies when corporations seek coverage for legal problems.
It is a given that trust in this Management and Board has not been earned and credibility continues to decline. It requires tremendous effort to repair a relationship (on both sides) and, given the generally hostile environment, return of trust doesn't seem likely.
Until the governance culture of SLR changes, owners can make choices: 1) not to exacerbate the situation with inflammatory rhetoric 2) to look for opportunities to engage in collaborative activities 3) recognize positive initiatives 4) maintain a neutral attitude and skepticism and call out suspected deviations from the truth in a civil manner 5) ignore everything, withdraw from all participation and hope the worm turns. (I tried #5 for a long time), 6) petition for a Special Meeting 7) recall directors.
Oh, and let's not forget the option rudely demanded by our forward-thinking community problem solvers ie "leave". Anyone have any more suggestions?
With regard to any attempt to re-write CC&R's, this would be the 2nd worst decision MANBOD could possibly make at this time. The worst decision would be to NOT deal openly and honestly with owners regarding covenant expiration. -S u e
