This initiative was launched today with a flyer "Save B o b's Carport!" This is being done in conjunction with B o b's attorney--who is overseeing the progress of this Special Member Meeting. This effort is being undertaken to avoid litigation with SLohA over the carport.
SAVE B o b’s CARPORT
Attachment Deleted
B o b, on 4 Parson Tom Circle, is one of only THREE lots in S-bag that has an unusual driveway set up that the new carport rule inadvertently did not account for. The Board insists its hands are tied by the attorney and refuse to give B o b a variance.
This carport is a beautiful addition to the home and our community—but SLohA is spending YOUR SLohA money on attorneys to pursue Bb and get him to take the carport down!
B o b has hired an attorney who suggested that S-bag Members call for a Special Meeting to change the archaic Rule.
SLohA documents already provide that all Owners must secure Polk County Building Division Permits for structures and additions! The problem is the additional, unnecessary layer of SLohA permissions called for by Boards requiring irrelevant and poorly-thought out design and construction standards. These rules do not translate well to modern doublewide manufactured homes nor consider unusual lot/house configurations such as Bb’s!
Accordingly, there will be a Member Petition and Proxy—prepared by B o b’s attorney—that will circulate soon. Only 158 signatures (20%) are needed to get the new Rule submitted to all the Members for approval! Once approved, Members will need ONLY the Polk County Permit to site their homes and install additions on their property!
