Certainly, ANY new website is expected to have growing pains. But, I just got an email from leery listerine (supposedly) with a downloadable attachment that gave me pause:
I wrote the following back:

I have also unsubscribed from these leery Lestor e-mails alerts.
I will also check on my profile on the SLR web site.

I have corresponded with leery listerine about this email and have come to better understand where this email WARNING was coming from. I am satisfied that his email bulletin was a well-intended but misguided attempt to protect subscribers to casual threats reported by a few users.
Folks--you cannot delete popups! The popup is a marketing device and is a fact of cyberlife! You can temporarily close the popup window..but it will be back. There are many apps to "permanently" block popups, however! Google "popup blockers". Choose one and Install. If it fails to stop popups, try another one! This will help you protect your computer and your peace of mind!
Never open an attachment to your email unless it is expected and described by the Sender. Simply close your email and contact your Sender. Your computer will not self-destruct!
Nonetheless, I did express to leery that such casual reports of popups are not appropriately reacted to on a corporate business website unless one has reason to believe that corporate security has been breached. And, that unexplained downloadable attachments are always reasonable cause for alarm...
I hope that greater discretion will be exercised in the future with regard to the kinds of messages which are appropriately transmitted to slresort.net website subscribers. I would hate to see the "baby thrown out with the bathwater". The SLR website is a step in the right direction and owners should be vigilant--but not freaked out--by missteps in the learning process.
