The board persists in engaging in theatrics by inviting Polk County Sheriff to attend "to keep the peace". I think as long as nobody from Bown, Gaganese etc attends a meeting, there should be no further incidents.

Manager gave report mostly about water intrusion which continues was actually Less and therefore "suspect". Three 3 flow meters are being calibrated for free this time (for good behavior!) total savings $1200. SLohA saved about $500 last month by having the VOIP phone system. SLohA saves about $20/mo for poSt age meter lease. Message is that board is looking for ways to save $. That's good news.
President gave a pep talk about being thankful for what we have in the little time left. Nothing else. Except he continues comments about "when rules are re-activated. It is not known what is meant by that; perhaps it is board shorthand. Someone asked me about that after the meeting.
To be accurate: there were NO rules submitted to Florida DEO in the revitalization (reactivation?) package to "reactivate". If you have any doubt, read the Green Consent Sheet. It lists specifically which documents you are consenting to revitalize.
If DEO approves SLohA's three (3) revitalization packages, it will not include any rules. They will have to be readopted on future ballots. ALL the Rules are "dead"; they are non existent, legally speaking. The board may consider them to be in suspended animation and that is fine, but they are, in fact, dead until they are re-ballotted in future elections. BTW, as of 2 days ago, SLohA's revite packages (3) were still "in the queue...
V Pres: Thanks to the Welcome Mat who contacted 24 new owners
Secretary: Read summaries of correspondence
Treasurer: Motion to change signature cards/lockbox access at bank. Reported underbudget all line items except Contract Services due to Trash Collection. Feb Financials are are office.
(I also checked the website and they are posted there as "February Financials". I wrote the Administrator and requested accurate and specific naming of corporate documents ie "Feb 2016 Financials" and will be posted today)
Veterans Memorial was approved.
Storage: I missed the boat on this somehow. It was a big deal for several meetings that everybody needed to clear out of the Maintenance buildings and clubs were taking up too much space.
Now, it appears that Granny's Attic has 2 new trailer containers relocated for "stuff" and leery listerine made a motion that these containers were CLUB property.
They are NOT Club property. They are SLohA property that the Club is the custodian of. They are technically "limited common property" .
Remote Control club still has stuff there and that is OK with BOD all of a sudden. 50th Anniversary Committee chairman granted permission to put stuff there. (More stuff being added??? What was the initial fuss about? Anyone know?)
The board states unequivocally they will not sponsor a second garage sale day but invite other clubs or interested groups of persons to take ownership and organize. Tummy makes a good point that this situation underscores the question of what to do about outside groups being invited inside S-bag for activities. She reports that most people are of the opinion that S-bag activities should be for S-bag residents.
Jnsn says people should stop vetching about Security staff not responding to phone calls. Apparently, people are not calling the Security # which is attended at all times. 863-604-4321
The hotdog cart request, predictably, was denied. The hotdog vendor did not attend the meeting or speak to support their request. The rationale given was that another club was fundraising with their Hot Dog Social and a second hot dog vendor would dilute the fund raising efforts which go back to S-bag.
Owner Comments:
Owner wanted to know when the "Grayhackle tent" would be removed. leery said that they were looking into it but the rules (until "reactivated) would not allow SLohA to take action. The county had been out to inspect. (I was told that there was no citation issued by the County. Frankly, I don't understand the fuss; it is not a tent and no one is living there. I have seen several sun canopies in the park and this one looks like a Sm all open sun canopy to me).
Owner said Jhn Crummmmey should be relieved of assessment payments because he "works so hard 24/7". (Did Jhn hire a PR agent?)
(NEWSFLASH: That would be totally ILLEGAL--you cannot relieve anyone of assessments because it increases assessments on the remaining members. The Board does not have the authority to do this. The correct thing is to pay him appropriately.)
Owner asked status of communication towers. Chap replied that SLohA has given Polk everything it has asked for. Polk is waiting for a licensed commercial contractor to "sign off" on the work and submit the permit application under their name. ( I wonder how stab will get around this since he had no commercial contractor direct the tower construction.)
