I'm not there and neither are the other targets of MANBOD's angst. That is good news as I and others would probably be somehow linked with the current chaos!
Got Chap's PhoneVite today warning owners to "stay inside" because there was an armed suspect running at large and shorts had been fired. The SWAT team was responding and the helicopters were in the air tracking the suspect.
It is a beautiful sunny, breezy day along the Eel River on the north California Coast and this place is my current "slice of paradise". It saddens me that, with all the dreadful and hateful things happening in S-bag, there is added chaos from outsiders (presumably).

Just gotta phonevite from Chap. Lockdown in S-bag has been lifted. The perp is still at large, despite thermal imaging, helicopters, 130 uniformed officers and stab's spycams.
Residents are free to roam at will but should call 911 if they see anything unusual.

I am back in my northern home on north coast California (locals say "Norcal"). Though S-bag is in my rear view mirror, it and my friends are not forgotten. It is environmentally-beautiful and I have had the good fortune to have found another place that is equally beautiful! Although my plane landed in a maelstrom of wind, fog and rain, the skies soon cleared and this is the scene that greeted me!

Been there back in 2004 on my way to Eureka from Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Highway 101 is very scenic but my favorite still is the Pacific Coast Highway from Santa Monica to Bodega Bay. I make a stop in San Fran. to walk around Fisherman's Wharf munching on a fresh baguette from Boudin's Sourdough Bakery. Then I walk south along Broadway to reach City Lights Bookstore where I buy a first edition of Kerouac's On The Road. From there, it's a short stroll to Chinatown to buy some exotic teas from Vital Tea Leaf. Once I made the 2,000 mile trip from Wisconsin in my minivan, with an old mattress in the way-back. For two months I lived like a "rubber tramp", camping at the state beaches from Point Mugu to Montana de Oro. I breakfasted on oatmeal with raisins & black coffee cooked on a single-burner propane stove as I watched the dolphins body surfing a few hundred yards off the beach. My border collie, Cal, was my faithful traveling companion, just like in Steinbeck's Travels With Chrly.
Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road, Healthy, free, the world before me, The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose... From this hour I ordain myself loos’d of limits and imaginary lines, Going where I list, my own master total and absolute, Listening to others, considering well what they say, Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating, Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the holds that would hold me. I inhale great draughts of space, The east and the west are mine, and the north and the south are mine… All seems beautiful to me.
Happy Trails, S u e. We'll miss you. W.T.F. ?? How did I end up "liking" my own post? Must've hit the wrong button.
