President’s Message 5/9/2016
We did it! All of us together have succeeded in getting our bi-laws and covenants REVITALIZED. What a huge accomplishment!
Now is not the time to lay blame for what we have been through or the expense of time, money and energy it has taken to get this done. Now is the time to celebrate and look forward to a new era in the history of our resort. We can now anticipate a bright future for S-bag as it deals with the changes and cH allenges which our children and grandchildren will experience.
Now that many of us have returned to our summer homes things at S-bag have slowed down considerably. Tummy Blkbrn, in her “Trail Notes” on the website has been giving us a delightful description of summer life in the park. The S-bag Express is on hiatus so I thought that I would do my part to update everyone on what the Board is up to this summer.
Even in this quiet time there is a fairly frequent stream of e-mails among Board members as we consult with one another on routine issues and updates. Meantime back at S-bag, Chap, Toneesha, Bth and Shn look after the day-to-day duties around the office. Jhn and his crew maintain the grounds and equipment and take advantage of less park traffic to tackle those tasks which might have caused greater disruption to scheduled activities during the winter months.
Thankfully, the past month has not brought any unexpected emergencies or expenditures and the Board has decided not to hold a regular board meeting this month. That said, the internet towers which consumed so much attention last summer have now been fully certified by the county. This will bring great relief to some. The Board has been working behind the scenes to tidy up SLohA’s business relationship with KCnet and we soon expect to approve a lease agreement which will clear up any concerns around the ownership, liability and future of these controversial towers. I believe that the questions that have been raised will be answered.
I suspect that SLohA will never fully free itself from controversy and there will always be those who can not be satisfied but we have taken huge strides in healing some of the divisions that have plagued us over the past couple of years. We need to continue boldly down this path, confident that we are united in our desire to do what it takes to ensure that S-bag will flourish far into the future.
