Any long time S-bag resident know any history about the Lagoon? It looks to be a man made pond/lagoon. Just Curious...

I am unclear on the geography you are referring to. Is this the pond area adjacent to the Flyer field? I think of the lagoon as being the enclosed fingers off the main body of the lake. Can you clarify where the clearing(s) is/are? There should be a permit if there is pre-construction, land clearing, water diversion etc.

The algae filled Lagoon is aprox. a one acre area located 20 ft. behind the Flying Club Field's Memorial Propeller. You can drive your golf cart around the entire Lagoon. On the back side on the Lagoon, near the old barb wire fence/property line, someone has cleared a 100 ft. area around the Lagoon. A Sm all amount of red mulch has also been spread at the clearing site. The brush/trees that were removed have been pushed/piled back towards the barbwire fence/property line. You can now walk down to the Lagoon's edge on the back side. This secluded area use to be a serene place for a few residents. The maintenance dept. would keep the path cleared of over hanging limbs. I hope this gives you a clearer picture of the area in question.
Our old manager (M. e. l.) had signs posted on the path to that area stating: No Golf Carts Allowed !

Oh...THAT lagoon!! You are right about a secluded place with many pleasant evening memories! Throw a golf ball in the lagoon and make a wish! So it is now mulched at the edge? Is it going to be irrigated too?

The Flyer's Club also has a 2 person dingy on site near the Lagoon with a Sm all access path to launch the dingy very close to the Clubs Memorial Propeller and table/chairs. I do not know what the future holds for the Lagoon.
