Post on CHUG 7/31:
So...what is the real date of the meeting? August 18th..or August 19th? Is this a mistake or yet another strategy to avoid owner participation in SLohA business affairs? And yes, there is total distrust underlying my question about this "mistake" as the BOD has inexplicably changed the regularly scheduled meetings from WEDNESDAY to TUESDAY. Are we now back to Wednesdays? (maybe because there is no more conflict with Brnd's tee time?)

Looks like the BOD agreed: the Clubhouse marquee annouces the meeting to be Tuesday August 18th at 9am.

A quick summary: Acting President Rite seated as new President, Clf Jnsn elected Vice President and Bar bra murksberry appointed as a Director. Suthrd absent again--apparently he is in the bush somewhere in Michigan and has no access to modern day communications.
Motion to pay to fix "worst" of the gate valves passed. Discussion to do something about the iconic but n'er do well lake fountain- it has a bad motor that was supposed to last... Correspondence about illegality of towers and business on the property; DBag answered by letter (before he quit) in typical Mythbusters-style and said absolutely nothing having to do with the points made in the letter. Brief mention that revitalization would be re-started again in the "late fall". Audit is ready and Owner copies available. DBag removed from SLohA depository accounts.
Rite stated that 39 new homeowners bought in S-bag so "we must be doing something right". (I actually counted 41 turnovers from Jan-July 1.) Ms President: Since when did real estate activity relate to the lawful conduct of S-bag business? Could it be possible that people are seeing the coming firestorm over increasing assessments, objections to diversion of owner fees for a private business to operate, illegal occupation of property by a business, degradation of property value as a result of commercial activity, conflict of interest by MANBOD, future lawsuits and possible revitalization of only 72% of the parcels-is it possible people are dumping their properties at bargain basement prices? Could the uptick in real estate activity possibly suggest that you are <gasp> doing something wrong?
An Owner attempted to speak before BOD adjourned meeting and BOD was insistent on adjourning the meeting before permitting the owner to speak (BOD wouldn't want owner concerns to be part of the official record!). Owner wanted BOD to charge the Tower appeal sponsor SLohA's costs of appeal because the appeal failed to overturn the June 3 decision to approve the land use modification. The Member needs to be reminded who the "responsible parties" are who started this whole tower and business mess--stab, BOD, Stmbug Ixx! Without these fine folks, we would not have have any of these expenses! And, the legal costs of appeal are going to be chump change when owners' wallets are tapped to support SLohA's new for-profit business--a charitable corporate endeavor accepted and paid for by owners for the benefit of the investors.

Now if 5 more Board Members would take the same action as D Brnd, SLR maybe able to recover from their lack of leadership and their, we must win at any cost attitude.
It is not about winning or losing, it is about doing the right thing, and just follow the rules.
