BOD will apply for the Level 3 Comprehensive review that will be required for KCNET to do business within this residential development. The current PUD does not allow KCNet to do business here and there are several violations against S-bag and KCNetwork.
BOD tried to get control on last year's ballot to give 5 people the sole authority to permit commercial business in S-bag and that didn't pass (and would have been cH allenged with yet another lawsuit if it had passed!) Polk County has advised S-bag/KCNet that both are in violation of the PUD by operating a commercial business from our common residentially-zoned property.
BOD must apply to the Land Commission and submit a VERY EXPENSIVE Level 3 Application which owners are going to have to pay for. KCNet cannot make the application. S-bag must make it.
Owners are being given the finger by BOD. It is not up for a vote. We already voted for these bozos to represent our "best interests".
I'll say that again...Owners will have to $pay$ for a very expensive application process to change the PUD on behalf of a private commercial enterprise.
Is there anyone who still thinks that the Board is not involved with Kay c Ntwerk's business?

If digital storage has been discontinued, why were not owners advised of this important change in record keeping? And why was the digital storage implemented in the first place if there was no intent to maintain it? So many questions.

There is ZERO enforcement authority given to the board over private homeowner matters in FS617. I just posted the entire statute on this Forum for reference. The Pinkbook is a historical document at this point. FS617 is the only governing document existing for SLohA at this time, except for the requirements of revitalization under FS720. And even that is in doubt because SLohA does not meet the STATUTORY definition of a Homeowner Association.
Choppy waters ahead! Now is when we need REAL LEADERS with intelligence and vision--not a bunch of litigation-happy, weak-minded wimps with personality disorders and PCSD police on speed dial "protecting our interests".

Where is the election tally? Who got how many votes? We still have no idea if the budget or the allocation to reserves passed and what the #'s are. What is wrong with this bunch?
Do we have to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act to get our election results?

I was informed that the Board would like to believe that owners were adequately notified that they and KCNet would be taking over our common property with KCNet's internet towers and planned to add a towers at the beach and raise the heights on the unpermitted structures. This "notification" was supposedly made at the Feb 2015 meeting. I went back to review and for some reason, I did not have the meeting posted so here it is and here is the relevant "notification" of their plans to the 38 or so owners in attendance at the meeting:
Note the Order of "Business: The meeting was adjourned. Then the Owners commented--with no notations as to the content of the comments. Note the general, benign wording of the supposed "notification" i.e. "to change the land use description of SLR PUD...so that a hearing can be scheduled by Land Development...to address the internet distribution towers..."
This was a done deal before the Agenda was published. A meeting had already been held with Polk County and the board never notified anyone of any Polk County building code violations or the violation of the Home Occupation Code. No one ever mentioned heightening the towers or permitting BIG BUSINESS to be actively conducted on the property--sponsored by the Board! Not a whisper about another tower on the beach (proposed--Yeah Right!) The only source of information was this Forum and no one here has "inside information from secret meetings".
All the Board did was blame an owner for asking the county if the Tennis Court Tower was anchored safely--which it was not! And now, it is asking Owners to believe that it acted in our best interests and with complete disclosure of its intentions and actions! YOU decide!

Board Meeting 02-18-15
Projects recently completed: The tennis court replacement. Sod replacement and road repair next to the tennis courts completed. Projects in the works:
Replacement of the guy wire posts for the Memorial H all internet tower.
Replacement of impellers in 2 of the high service pumps at the water plant.
Lift station repairs due to inorganic materials being forced through the system's submersible pumps. Repair of the ice maker in the clubhouse kitchen.
Fut ure projects: Repair of the rear wall of the recreation building. Awaiting drawings. Replacement of the basketball. 2015-2016 fiscal year. Upgrade the monitoring system on the waste and water plants.
Waste plant repairs and improvements. 2015-2016 fiscal year. Maintenance items:
The divider curtain on the right hand side in Memorial H all was pulled out of the wall. The repair is under way and should be completed this week. The picnic table frames are being put together for use under the oaks. Grounds keeping continues.
Housekeeping items:
As requested, a damage report will be posted with the Manager's report beginning this month. Read damage report attached.
