At The BOD Meeting today, there was a Litter Cat Chat Period. The BODs conversation had been about the new awning at BB's place. And the conversation was pointing to Our Dead Book's rules and the BOD's can not just change them, the Rules need to be place on the Ballot and approved by the members. On & On, they went, kind of silly really when in the near future the Court system will make the big decision. Any way, the Miks were open to the members and BB addressed the BOD, he was reading from notes. He pointed out 6 or 8(by lot # & street) all of the awnings like his or similar too. And the last thing he wanted to do it add any thing on his lot that would take away from the Park. He also pointed out all of the Towers on common ground in SLR. Which are mainly for a Business within SLR. He got his point across with due respect.
Then the person behind him got to the Mic and talk about all of harassment Pet Owners have been taking lately, with preaching about Dog/Pet Poop in the Common Areas, having control of you Pet, except at The Dog Run, No Dogs here, No Dog there. Plus they went to the Extreme to place big: NO DOGS ALLOWED, DOGS ALLOWED TO POOP HERE. You get the idea.
Then the question was asked, with all of these Pet RULES is SLR, why are we Care Takers, Feeding Feral Cats on the Main Office's Front Porch. Well guess what, our Manager started to speak. I said NO, this is a BOD's Meeting and you gave your Manager's Report and your function is over, this is a BOD Meeting and I am asking SLR's BOD this question.
Well, what followed was, not One Single Board Member said a word, On the St age or On the Phone, Yes not A Single Peep.
What they gave was A Big Poo Eating Grin/Smile.
They did not have an answer as to why the Front Office are Care Takers For FERAL CATS.. I do believe our Manager wanted to Reply, but she had been cutoff, from the Get-Go..
So Lets make that Call to: 863-499-2600 (Polk Co. Animal Control) and get the Cat in The Bag. I will be calling in the morning. So do Call or Stop Complaining. The presence of these Feral Cats on the SLR's Office's Front Porch is a Bad First Impression and Violates every Pet Rule, that Our Leaders Preach. This is what you would see at A Fish Camp. So please call 863-499-2600!!! The Cat is OUT of The Bag!!! And I was going to: Listen & Learn.... Boy that did not happen... Maybe more to come later.

The BOD's handling of the feral cat question/concern was disrespectful and rude, as was Manges. Mange is obviously so accustomed to thinking and speaking for the BOD that she does so as a presumptous response whenever a question is directed to the BOD.
BOD is supposedly there FOR the owners benefit; not to sanction abuse of privilege that they shamefully handed over to the Mange. These men have been seriously stripped of self-respect and abdicated their duty of loyalty to the owners--FIDUCIARY duty! Here's a serious shoutout to YOU for interrupting the Mange's mouthspew and redirecting the question to BOD.
If owners direct their anger anywhere, it should be to the idiots we elected to represent our interest who do not care about anything except their own self interests and getting through their elected term without a lawsuit.
If owners wish to direct their efforts at creating and maintaining a safe community, we must now look OUTSIDE this indifferent and corrupt park for relief from public health and safety violations.
I, for one, will make a phone call to the Sheriff.

So, a bit confused here; are we to take it that NOBODY has of yet called to inform Animal Control of the feral cat issue at the "Admin. office?" Or, does Animal Control need more people (some sort of quota) to call in to inform/complain/explain to Animal Control what's going on in order to get the feral cat issue resolved by them?
Thank you for a response.

I do not have any idea how many residents have called. I think that 2 residents for sure have placed a call to Animal Control. As I was told the issue will be addressed in a couple of days. So the more people that place a call the better. A squeaky Wheel gets the most grease. It was suggested by the gentleman at Animal Control, that the Feral Cats can be trapped if on your property. They will pick them up. I do not believe they supply traps. Traps placed outside of the SLR property, he did not have an opinion or advise. Most likely not legal as you would be on State, County or Private property. They will check for any paper work on the said cats or scan them for any chips.. So do call with your Feral Cat concerns to Animal Control. Phone number is in above post. Talked to Vince, contact person for any follow up in a few days. Thanks for listening

Animal Control needs TWO verified complaints to take action. That is per the county ordinance. Complaints need to continue to be lodged until that quota is met and a plan is made to remove these feral cats from the property to a safe place to be socialized and adopted into a family.
It is the humane thing to do for domesticated animals who cannot speak for themselves but are mindlessly encouraged by irresponsible agents on our property to perpetuate their lives in a dependent and feral state.

The Front Porch of the Administration office IS OUR PROPERTY!

The care taker of the feral cats should be fined. The feral cats are the victims. I wonder how many mice, voles, moles, snakes and other rodents they leave on the Front Porch in the morning. When we had a couple of cats, they would always leave their prize catch at the patio door. It was like see this, it is our trophy catch.
A little true story, trust me. A few years back we were working at a Md. Sea-Shore Campground. The front office always had stray cats hanging around, we would trap them, and call Animal Control. But it was never ending, because Campers would feed them, when ever they walked past the Office. I was doing maintenance at the front office grounds, and a Sm all cat was acting strange. I was trying to keep people away, as I had a feeling this cat was sick. The Office called Animal Control, but before they got to the Campground, a young female employee felt sorry for the cat. So I warned her, but she insisted on picking up the Sm all cat. Well the cat gave her a Sm all bite. Animal Control finally got to the scene and removed the cat. Well the cat tested positive for rabies. And the young female Campground employee had to have a series of painful shots. So I am always aware of animals with strange behaviors. End of Story.. Time for A Cat Nap or is it Nip... Trust Me !!! True Story... O-Yes, the young lady was OK, after her series of shots. Live & Learn..

yes, somehow, this cat nap that the mange's mind took when she decided to have feral cats as pets at our front office is just status quo for her; never thinking about the fact that these cats are her victims because she is an irresponsible airhead who doesn't think about the fact that having allowed these cats to live in here could cause possible serious consequences: human victims of feral cat bites and scratches..
