I have just received shocking news that my next door neighbor, Rick, passed away. Rick was from Ohio and was 66 years old.
Reportedly, he drowned in S-bag Lake; the circumstances are unknown at this time.
I am saddened by this news; as a neighbor, we chatted occasionally and enjoyed an occasional brewski in my driveway. We had civil discussions about a problem tree on his property and Rick was an animated and reasonable person. I enjoyed his "cowboy" personality!
Rick also displayed passionate opinions at board meetings and was a refreshing new voice in S-bag business. He will be missed in the Bag.
This thread is open for all who knew Rick to post on, if desired.

Five days have passed and I have not heard a peep of information from any credible source. So, I reached out to the Ledger. They responded that they had not heard anything and said they would follow up and report. I will let you know if I hear more from the Ledger.
The Bag rumor mill is running on overtime. Rick deserves better than half-baked theories and innuendoes. Please have respect and if you hear anything from a reputable source, please share it and name the source.
Management/BOD: Good job informing the residents of S-bag about their neighbor .

Chap needs to be on a short leash. He says "Dont speculate" and then what does he do....he speculates!
The cause and manner of death will be determined by the coroner and that determination will include toxicology. Until the report is released or otherwise shared by a primary and reputable source, Chap should restrain his mouth about things not yet known for certain. This is a very poor report which simply spread more rumors.

And if I might Speculate a bit further THERE ARE NO GUARDRAILS on the open water side of the dock! This is a safety issue that I warned hanging Chap and the board about over a Year ago?

Heard from Ledger; they intend to publish a followup after talking to the ME. S-bag's grounds have many risks which the Board/ is not adequately managing. See the thread here Marina on the docks named "Aka Firebird Marina>A Growing Liability; it was reported that there is way too much movement of the platform and the anchor post and hardware are not correctly matched. It is also quite slippery when wet. This is at least the 5rd person "in the lake" that I am aware of since the dock was put in. SLohA at one point put in an additional ladder or two but installed it on only one side of the dock; the lake side. Most boaters enter and exit their boat from the slips on the land side-not the lake side.
