Here are the News updates posted recently on status of the storm, Irma:
Storm Update 9:00 PM, Sept.11
Residents are settling in for their second night without power.
It is difficult to say how soon electricity will be restored because the outage is so widespread.
Generators are keeping water and sewage system working and the clubhouse is available with air conditioning, device recharging capabilities, cooking facilities and I am told crews are working to coordinate meals for those in residence.
Work has begun to clear debris from the roads to allow full access.
There has been no flooding but some structures have received some wind damage. Most damage is minor but a few homes have been more seriously affected.
Staff and volunteers are trying to catalogue the damage and will be notifying those with the most serious damage first.
Of course everyone is anxious to hear about their own property so if you have information to share you may be able to pass something along to others but communication from S-bag to the outside is still very limited and phone calls may not get through.
It appears that KCnet internet and phone service has been lost and cell service and land line service may be difficult as well.
We are advised not to attempt to return to S-bag for some time as emergency crews are out on the roads and traffic is expected to be heavy over the next several days.
We must take comfort in the fact that we have no injuries reported and that we have a dedicated staff who are being assisted by a faithful army of residents who are attending to the best interests of everyone.
We will do our best to keep you informed.
Rest well.
Storm Update 2:00 PM, Sept. 11
Chap reports. All residents accounted for and safe.
Phone and internet service within the resort limited.
Power still out throughout resort although water and sewage are operating on back-up generator.
Maintenance crews have begun street clean-up to make all roads accessible.
Volunteer crews will be attempting to contact owners with most severe damage.
Storm Update 11:15 AM, Sept. 11
Latest report indicates some homes may have received more damage than first indicated.
Crews are out doing assessments. Owners will be notified by phone teams.
Storm Update 10:15 AM, Sept. 11
Irma seems to have settled down in S-bag area.
Reports indicate only minor property damage although lots of downed tree branches.
Just now safe to get out to survey damage.
Power still out since last night around 10:00 PM.
Will keep owners posted.
