I've noticed that 'rotten-egg' smell a lot of times, then there are times it has a real heavy chlorine smell __________________________________
I am not all that fussy about water, but the smell of chlorine is so overwhelming some mornings that I can't make coffee with tap water! For the past year, I have kept a purifier water pitcher in the fridge just for making coffee. Don't the professionals hired to monitor the water make sure it is properly treated? __________________________________
The water smells so bad sometimes that you cant use it to even brush your teeth with let alone wash your face without gagging . ________________________________

When Water Tech was doing our water monitoring the water didn't smell as bad as it does now; then we get word from manager that Water Tech went out of business and another company was hired to take their place--the truck that was then coming in to monitor our water said 'Central Exxxxxxx Motors' on the door.
When Water Tech was doing this service for us, I had spoke with one of the two technicians from Water Tech that was coming in here, he gave me a lot of technical info on what his job entailed; he even gave me his business card. Later, I had some questions for Water Tech (this was after we were told by manager that Water Tech had "gone out of business",) I called the number on his card and a lady answered the phone: "Good morning, Water Tech." I asked her if they were still in business and she assured me that they were still in business. (So obvious it was yet another lie manager told us.)
I told the Water Tech receptionist I had some questions for them and she gave me the name and number to the guy who is now doing that job. He told me that after Water Tech stopped coming in here and before he started doing the job, it was evidently being done by our maintenance and there was a higher than normal chlorine content in our water. He was working to get it right. ___________________________________________________________

In the past any time SLR's water pipes were compromised (broken pipe, pump work, valve work, any time bacteria could be an issue) Maintenance would super chlorinate the system. I do not know the procedure or what type of chlorine system SLR has, but it looks like the maintenance dept. needs help. We have a separate water tap with a catch all, expensive in-line filter. On a brighter note, when you take a shower, the chlorine will disinfect your body. :-)

We have a Pur water filter on the kitchen sink and a whole-house carbon wrap filter on the outside and we change them MONTHLY because the water is so full of chemicals and other ill-shit.

Some think the water is bad smelling now ? Attachment DeletedOur Yellow Trash Truck gave us a major oil down on 12-28-2013 Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedThis HYD. OIL will go right into the Lake and into our Water Supply . The Manager and the Board of Directors FAIL TO DO ANYTHING and this has been documented with time/date Digital pictures. Take a drive around on our once clean streets and see for yourself ..... Take some ACTION PEOPLE , DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR COMMUNITY BEFORE THE MANAGER/BOD CAUSES OUR RESORT TO SHUT DOWN DUE TO THEIR INEPTNESS TO CORRECT AN ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER. The MANBOD are only looking at the MONEY and THEIR illegal internet , they don't give two shits about SLR and it shows . THE SOLUTION TO POLLUTION IS NOT DILUTION

What can the residents do to help stop this pollution? I am sure this is also happening in other communities served by TT. I got my first sample of oil the other day.

The MANBOD are only looking at the MONEY and THEIR illegal internet , they don't give two shits about SLR and it shows . THE SOLUTION TO POLLUTION IS NOT DILUTION A formal complaint has just been filed , Report Number #1069646 The Bio Hazard Report Line Operator said that he has electronically forwarded the complaint to the Florida State EPA Board and the U.S. Coast Guard in St. P . Since the storm water drains directly into Lake S-bag and SLR has no painted Placards by drains and or any oil weir separators protecting the Lake we are a TOP PRIORITY . The Coast Guard Patrols and Protects Inland Waterways and have a very hard line towards Violators and Violations of this type and magnitude. Since there is record of Trashin' Taxi spilling and claiming their trucks are not leaking, private complaints to both the MANAGER and The Owner of Trashin' your Hood, I can only hope there will be some steep fines to all those who did not do anything to make TT stop leaking 3 days a week in our Community and on our Roads and in our Lake . An interesting tidbit of info : The Manager is from Michigan and The Yellow garbage truck company has services in Troy Michigan also.

@ Father Justice-->YOU<---are my nomination for the SLR Citizen of the Month!
Thank you for taking the time to try to get this irresponsible and shameful situation addressed by outside agencies who will actually do something the help us short and long term! It has been demonstrated over and over that our own "management" have other goals to tend to.
BTW--about the Michigan connection--I don't believe in coincidences.

Thank you for the nomination but I do not want anything other than to protect our community and its residents , even the ineffectual Board members. It might be time to File in Court on Management Co. due to his Employee not performing her duties and allowing this to continue all these months and up to 3 days a week . This would be what Lawyers call a "Slam Dunk Case" . Just imagine the cost to Management for Roto-Milling contaminated asphalt ,trucking and clean up (burning) of oil soaked asphalt chips and then the complete "dirt up repaving" that will be needed . It would be at least in the millions , possibly 3 to 4 with everything included .

If there is significant expense to SLohA in the form of fines and remedial measures, it will surely be passed on the owners to assess a special assessment. (Naturally, residents will be blamed by the President in the S-bag Express).
That levy will, in turn, be passed along to the responsible players who created and perpetuated the conditions leading to the environmental violation and consequences. Seems to me we are slowly accumulating a steady stream of potential lawsuits against and directors.

Water quality remains very poor at best in SLR. I have a whole-house filter as well an inside one on the tap--i change both regularly and still the water tastes like crap.
(Recent national news stated approx. 2 weeks ago that Florida has the 2nd worst quality water in the U.S. That begs the question: who is #1?)

just gogled it: & this is from 2009, can't find any recent stats for some reason:
And, the Top Ten: CA WI NC FL NY NV PA OH NM
I find it hard to believe it's California!? I really think Florida has ya'all beat, after all, Jacksonville, FL, which is the largest city in that state, has by far the worst water quality of all cities in the U.S. according to a recent water quality report.

The 2014 stats give WoRST drinking water to Jax, FLorida! In Lake Wales, I had a reverse osmosis system installed to get decent drinking water than didn't taste like I was drinking out of a swimming pool. I give the worst TASTING water to Sulphur Springs, LA Strong odor of Sulphur and unidentifiable acidic taste I give the worst LOOKING water to Carthage, MO. Cloudy with dissolved rusty color, stained the city water inlet of my RV and shower basin. Made my dog throw up. Flushed my holding tank at next campground. MEMORABLE but not in a good way. Water quality in northern coastal California, with two filters in place, I fill my water bottles. Naturally chilled and delicious. No more lugging jugs of water. (Water problems are in southern California in the agriculture areas. The only pollutants in my area are from DEA burning weed grows.)

OMG! The DEA is "smoke'n" weed in north Cali? And probably contributing to the air pollution problem.
Maybe they should get the EPA after the DEA...
