I received an unsolicited email today from a company called FRONTSTEPS. I received no notice from SLohA that my email was going to be shared and distributed to other companies. I do not like that and I don't think there is an Opt Out privacy setting on slresort.net. These companies often sell their email to other companies and then your mailbox gets filled up with unwanted spam.
Anyone going to use the Management Company's payment processing vendor -FRONTSTEPS- to pay assessments? Looks like you pay an added 2.95% to pay by credit or debit card and $4.95 to pay by check.
Wow that's $15.49 added to a credit card payment but better check my arithmetic!
I cannot see why anyone in this day and age would send their checks to FRONTSTEPS rather than directly to Stmbug Ixx! Am I missing something here?
Is Stmbug Ixx still doing the accounting?
Anyway, I unsubscribed from FRONTSTEPS whose website advertises that is charges a 20cents/unit "community" fee for the privilege of being a partner with SLohA. You have to sign up to get the details. If that is monthly, it is $158/mo so members are getting banged again!

Management should be doing cost saving things and not increasing the fee's. If management can't cut cost's then we need a change.....surely there must be a Management Company that could undercut the current one and save folks some money instead of escalating cost's and sucking the bank dry and then a special assessment will follow. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

That is a very good point, CH allenger. Charging the members more and more, rather than looking for ways to cut costs!
It appears that now there are THREE points of sale for assessments collection: we pay employees to receive payments at the front desk at the Admin office and courier the payments to Toneesha, we pay Toneesha to receive, process, post and bank the checks from the office and from other banks and owners, and now we will have FRONTSTEPS processing credit cards and e-checks--who will deposit to the SLohA account and send a credit statement to Toneesha!
Eventually, Toneesha will raise the accounting management fee because it takes so much time to do the accounting.
Can we think of one more entity we can engage to collect assessment payments and further complicate accounting? Maybe we can organize a club to receive checks at KoffeeKlatch or go around on golf carts to gather up checks and cash! Maybe employees can swipe credit cards on a SquareUP account!

I just received an email from Chap Click saying to "ignore" the email sent out earlier from FRONTSTEPS.
However, I cannot ignore the fact that FRONTSTEPS says it charges a community 20 cents per parcel. Presumably, that is to administer the account even if NOONE pays the Optional Premium Fee! I do not know if this applies to S-bag, but I do not think SLohA should be assessing ALL owners for a premium service that only a few--or most likely NONE--will ever use at $5 or $15 a pop!
Chap: "Have the Owners ever expressed an interest in having such a service, when these services are already available for free (or nominal fees) using their own banks?"
In my recollection, Owners have expressed an interest in having a monthly payment option for assessments and, despite lip service in the past from "management" (specifically Toneesha), that question has never been satisfactorily answered or seriously addressed.
The other reason I cannot ignore it is that I have been made aware that Owners who are NOT signed up with an email address on slresort.net received the solicitation email from FRONTSTEPS. That raises at least questions:
"Where did SLohA get the email address from?
"Did SLohA ever receive consent to distribute and publish a person's private email address to 3rd parties?"
Chap, why not take a whack at those questions and concerns instead of hoping that everyone will ignore the email?
