Looks like we are going to have a lease agreement with The Right Solution (TRS). My expectations are low but still hopeful that members of SLohA will get a fair market deal on an internet option that is affordable and flexible and that actually serves members and not a for-profit corporate. Maybe the BOD will make THIS one available for member review and comment and actually broker a decent deal and ratify it in the official record (unlike the bogus KCNet scam).

Spectrum is on track and laying equipment for a September rollout. TRS lease agreement was ratified by the BOD. Predictably, the BOD did NOT post the lease agreement on the Association website. I sent an email for a e-copy and will post when I receive it.
The Prez is very aware that is another sweetheart deal and is giving TRS free lease of the towers for 3 years. leery pre-defended this by saying that TRS had startup operating costs--like any business. The question is begged; what offset will owners get in exchange for 3 years of no lease income to the association? Without reading the lease, it is hard to know whether this agreement is as one-sided as the KCNet agreement.

Based upon my own research, it appears that Dale Scheerer, the president of TRS, is only a seasonal resident of S-bag. That begs the question "who will be running TRS while Mr. Scheerer is at home in Canada?". Could it be someone associated with the previous internet provider? That begs another question, "was the sale of KCNET's equipment a true arm's-length purchase or was it really a 'straw sale' whereby the previous internet provider continues to operate S-bag's W.I.S.P. while, at the same time, avoiding the financial liability owed to customers when KCNET suddenly closed in March?. By my reckoning, that financial liability exceeds $150,000.

Jm you certainly raise interesting questions!
Given past experience with this Management Co/BOD and the suddenness of KCNet's unforseen and unexplained abandonment of the business, leaving residents with no service in the middle of season and keeping all the prepaid monies--WITHOUT APOLOGY--it would not surprise me in the slightest that this "new" lease is the old one in disguise and there is possibly a back room deal. TRS appears to be some kind of franchise scheme ie it is not a stand alone business entity--there are tentacles.
Would I deal with TRS? No Way! There is a bad smell here and it is not coming from the owners.
If you want to look at this closer, it appears to be a business primarily targeted to selling cloud services through a partner Ntwerk. The contact for S-bag is Dale and the company says you can manage your business from a cell phone (may be true for cloud services but not for internet). Says it will cost $65/mo for to 40b of speed needs a credit card and you must agree to let TRS have access to your contacts and photos (no thanks). VERY pricey; I get 50b for $40/mo in California, the most expensive place to live on earth!
There is surely more to see here!

Almost forgot about the investors. A good point you make. What happened to the investors who threw their money at Bb stab with the promise that everybody would eventually be paying for internet service through assessments?

One thing that vexed me was - given Spectrum's move to cable up S-bag - how does TRS expect to attract any customers? Then I had an epiphany... TRS is not going after customers in S-bag. Rather it is looking to provide internet to those customers previously served by KCNET who reside outside S-bag . If my hunch is correct, we now have a business in S-bag - in violation of our covenants - which has been given an exclusive use of our communication towers (at no cost) to serve customers outside of our community. If so, could I get a lease from the Board on some land behind the driving range for the purpose of offering storage space for anyone in the Lake Wales area? Oh, and I would not be required to pay any rent for that land.

Your brain works in strange and marvelous ways! That is exactly what is happening. TRS is a proxy for KCNet and this scheme might help to save SLR investors in the KCNet business. You will note that the prez was very careful to emphasize that TRS would be operating OUTSIDE S-bag. Bingo for you, Jm! Note, if it is operating outside of SLR, it must update its business location with Secretary of State. TRS is currently on record to a S-bag mailbox.
(Maybe that is a step up from KCNet doing business out of a storage garage location up the street.)

The more I think about your theory, the more sense it makes. How could ANY business ever expect break even on the meager revenue from a few seasonal subscribers in the Bag! There must be a greater business plan and it makes sense that TRS would not only buy stab's equipment but also his subscriber records and perhaps even his modus operandi.
It will be fascinating to know where this server shop will be set up since leery listerine has assured us that it will NOT be "from S-bag".
