MEMORIAL H all UPDATE:
NOVEMBER 5, 2013
The power meter was installed last Monday and the power was turned on. The AC units and lights were tested and all is well. R.I.G.'s cleaning crew finished on Friday.
They are still working on the punch list. They will be taking care of the paint over spray, the rear door handle and lock, the front door inside power button, the concrete on the rear steps, and they are working on the tile order.
Thanks again to The Women's Club and The Men's Club for their generous donations toward the tile project!
Once we pass final inspection JCW will install the blinds.
There will be a Resort-wide announcement when we receive our Certificate of Occupancy

Does anyone know what the complete total cost was for the New Annex Bldg. and that would include: site work, drainage, transformer, upgrades, parking lot paving, curbing, landscaping, design drawings, concrete walkway, consultant fees and misc.items.
I would think it maybe a little bit over the original budget.. Anyone have a $$$$$$ figure to share?

Lissen Up you delusional anonymous Guests wanting to know how much owners spent on a project! MANBOD does not want you to know the total cost that you paid for these projects. And, there is still work needed on the Annex (flooring, window coverings and more in the "punch list").
MANBOD is likely to be very defensive about the cost overruns from the estimate originally presented to owners.
If you want this information--accurate, complete and verifiable-- (as opposed to a verbal, off-the-cuff "around $" given on the fly in a BOD meeting or pool gossip) you are just gonna have to do an Official Records request.

The above is from the November minutes.
Does anyone remember the discussion about this? WHY is money (partially) coming from OPERATING budget? Did anyone question this?
When you use Operating to pay things that should be coming from Reserves, the Actual Budget gets artificially increased. When budget time rolls around, the Proposed Budget would erroneously be presented as needing to be funded "at least x$--because that is what we spent last year!"
Operating is day to day expenses of "operating" the park. ALL monies for the new Annex (and Boat Dock) should come from RESERVES.
This is why a comprehensive records request is appropriate which breaks out costs and which account they were expensed from, as well as ALL contributions shown as income to the appropriate account. If for no other reason, it will identify which expenditures were inappropriately charged to Operating and should not be included in the "Actual" totals when it comes budget time.

I heard they--the office--lost your request for this new annex total $$$ info; have you attempted to re-submit your request? You may want to obtain a signed/initialed and dated copy of your (2nd) request--that is if you didn't do so the first time--then you can wave that in their face if they lose it again. Sounds to me like they have no intention of ever giving that info out to anyone; especially in light of the fact that they've pulled $$$ from both reserves as well as operating monies to pay for it.

My question is regarding the topic of funds coming from operating rather than reserves: If they are having to turn to operating to fund projects that should be funded from reserves--then what happened to our reserves?
