Manager's Report
Board Workshop 11-05-13
Projects recently completed:
JCW built new doors on the manager's golf shed and the parts room at maintenance. They also painted all of the tire stops and entrance islands.
Projects in the works:
Memorial H all…D has the update on that.
Replacement of the sidewalk next to the tennis courts is scheduled for this week.
The replacement of the generator for maintenance. Parts are on order.
Sewer main and service lateral repairs. The Board will be discussing that today. It has not been scheduled as of yet.
Flood plain remapping request. The reply I received from FEMA stated that I used the wrong on-line form to apply, even though it was the form they told me to use.
Future projects:
Storm drain box repairs on the lake front. The lake level is still too high to schedule those repairs.
Replacing the sign at SR60. The Board is still accepting suggestions.
Repair of the rear wall of the recreation building. A budgeting bid has been received and will be addressed at the Board's upcoming budget and reserve meeting for the 2014-2015 fiscal year with Sxxxxxxxx Ixx.
Maintenance Items:
Maintenance repaired a leak at the sewer plant.
The safety rails for the dock gangways have arrived and will be installed this week.
Housekeeping items:
A big “Thank You" to The Women's Club and the Men's Club for their generous donations toward the proposed vinyl tile for Memorial H all. The Women's Club donated $3000. and the Men's Club donated $1500. And thanks to the Women's Club for their insistence that the building get tiled.
For any other club who would like to donate to the cause, or any other item on the donation list, the list is available at the office for your review. It should also be known that should a club have a wish list item they would like to add to the list they can bring it to the manager's attention and it will be added to the list for consideration.
SLohA received their award from the Florida Forest Service for being a “Firewise Community" at Koffee Klatch last week. If you did not attend the award can be seen and the hard cover information book can be seen and reviewed at the front office. Congratulations once again to the Board, the Association, the maintenance department, and all of those who contributed to bringing the Association common property into the “very low fire risk" zone! And thanks to K H for bringing awareness to the community about the risks of wildfires and the safety program to address it.
Thank you to V B of 25 Stone Fly for her donation of a concrete picnic table and benches for the Resort. It has been repainted and placed at the flyers area at the far end of the driving range replacing a broken wooden table.
Your curbside recycle day has changed from Wednesdays to Tuesdays. We are expecting another shipment of recycle bins this week. If you have not yet received a yellow bin and are not yet on the list at the office, please call the office and ask to be put on the list. We will deliver them as soon as they arrive. Thank you for your patience.
Thanks also to our sound engineers, B T, G H, and B S, once again making our meetings and teleconferences possible.
Thanks to the Board for their continued dedication to SLohA business, working tirelessly throughout the summer, some through illness, and always working in the best interests of the Association.
Thanks also to T at S, Inc. for her constant input, her expertise, and commitment to serve the Association.
Your latest reconciled financials are available at the office for your records.
Respectfully,
M K (LCAM) For SLohA
