Out of curiosity, I called the Finance Director for the City of West Allis, Wisconsin (the last city I worked for) to find out how much annual revenue the City receives from mobile phone companies for the right to mount their cellular antennae on the City's two water towers. AT&T pays $54,000 annually to West Allis Verizon pays $32,900 annually to the City of West Allis Sprint pays $51,500 annually to the City of West Allis T-Mobile/VoiceStream pays $33,500 annually to the City of West Allis TOTAL ANNUAL REVENUE TO THE CITY OF WEST ALLIS FROM THESE MOBILE PHONE COMPANIES = $171,000 Bb stab has publicly acknowledged that he has an arrangement with Verizon to re-broadcast its cellular signal from one or more of his towers in S-bag. ...and yet the S-bag H.O.A. receives no ground rent from him for those towers. Go figure!

OOPS. Upon re-reading the email from the West Allis Finance Director, I missed one other mobile phone company. In addition to AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobil, Cricket pays the West Allis $30,800 annually to mount its cellular antenna on the City's Rogers Street Water Tower. That brings total annual revenue to the City from these five cell phone companies to a sum of approximately $202,000. I've been toying with an idea since this whole controversy was first brought to my attention. If, as the Board claims, the Association no longer has any control over the erection of communication towers on the properties of individual owners, perhaps I should contact Verizon with a proposal for less money than they are currently paying Bb stab. Then I would use that money to cover the $180 assessment increase for internet service for those owners who are under financial hardship. Take That S-bag B.O.D.!

@ooops! What a creative idea; one which will surely be OK with our BOD since they already allow BS's towers without any paperwork. I know they wouldn't selectively enforce the covenant prohibiting commercial activity and you will not even have to apply to IT for a permission slip! Maybe you can appeal to MANBOD to pay the insurance and get JC to help you secure the tower to the base.
Yours is also a very generous thought to start a hardship fund for people who cannot afford the extortion fee from the lease of your tower. Maybe I should put one up to help fund my slander lawsuit. Let's talk! Joint Venture? Tower Power Inc!
