And now for the final stupidity. Bb Stieb, Jr. has proclaimed a misuse of the free wi-fi in Memorial H all. Therefore, on June 1, 2014, no more wi-fi available for people to use. Okay, wouldn't port-a-johns have been cheaper than a whole H all dedicated to nothing but bathroom use?

WHAT? Misuse? What type of misuse was going on here? We have a right to know what his (probably baseless) accusations are.
(I'm curious why Kay Cee Net's owner's son is getting involved with this? I've heard from several that he didn't want anything to do with his father's business--Stob, Sr, I thought ran the whole thing.) Oh, but wait, the new annex is allowed to be used for poker games at a certain time each week so it's not totally going to waste...being sarcastic here...

Waaah...waaaaah. Crybaby--misuse what a load of crap! That's just petty retribution because the owners voted down the "internet assessment" and Association is being sued for letting him squat on the property for all these years. He needs to take his towers elsewhere and set up a real business in an area zoned for business.
SLohA should not be paying to install and insure his 4 towers, house his bucket truck in our maintenance area, indemnify his service to 1500 outside subscribers, put up with daily contractors' coming and going on the property and look at ugly equipment housed on the property. This is a residential area-business is prohibited by the Covenants.
Not to mention be subjected to our own Board beating owners up to approve internet service as an "assesssment". What is the and Board's involvement with this business? (I guess time will tell.)
The Annex was a colossal waste of money and apparently built only to house KCN's equipment, Tinkle Rooms and DB's poker gambling operation.

The STUPIDITY of this board and the internet business owner will continue. That's to say that the more desperate they get, the more stupid they will be. I think there's going to be more nastiness coming from this triumvirate pack of liars.
There is seemingly no end to their lies to cover up previous statements to this community--which were also lies.
These board members have the manager to take up for them, since they are totally useless.
When she does, she's really good at being a lying hypocrite as well. She says things like: "God bless you all," or hugs certain residents and says nice things, but acts like she's possessed by the devil. Here's a couple examples:
When a certain resident passed away just over a year ago--she jumped up and down, laughing with happiness! It was reported that she was downright giddy! YES SHE DID! This is a FACT! Who among you has had this happen? I've NEVER in my entire life known anyone to laugh at someone's death--except for maybe in a gangster movie.
Then, when another resident wrote in to inform the community of the FACT that certain board members along w/certain security personnel were stalking her at night while out walking her dog, the manager LAUGHED AND LAUGHED during the reading of this letter at this very meeting. YES SHE DID! This is also FACT.
Silly? No--she is downright ASSHOLISH! I have another name for this P.O.S., but can't use it here...

What or who is Memorial H all for? Please tell me why everything is locked up when I paid my dues for access?

What or who is Memorial H all for? Please tell me why everything is locked up when I paid my dues for access? It is locked so that next year our Treasurer can say "The budget requires a dues increase so that we can open and use the Annex".
Also, if it stays locked and never used it will last for ever and the House Keeping Technician wont get behind on her busy schedule.
The Gambling Club wants sole use of the building since DB didn't get his name on the front of the structure.
Due to the apathy of the Owners in SLR things that we pay for and expect to have use of are being taken away one after the other, if we don't stand up and demand our property rights then we should pay only for what we use.

WE SHOULD only pay for what we use in here and make the renters/guests kick in some needed revenue--they come in here, use resources and put wear/tear on infrastructure(s) and even break things, but only pay the owners a rental fee. I never saw this as fair or right for the owners in here that have to pay for everything.

How is it that poker members other than Board memberhave a key to "their private room E" in Memorial H all, but everyone else is denied access?

Maybe because Members are only sources of revenue to support the privileged lifestyles of the self-appointed, self-indulgent and self-important? At least, according to IT who describes these directors as the second coming... (dedicated, committed, tireless blah blah blah).
Members are a necessary inconvenience whose main purpose is to help the commercial internet business be profitable for the benefit of investors and to fund a budget way above that necessary to satisfy the greed for "discounts" and do-overs of projects. (BONUS Discounts Times TWO!)
Members gave away all their power when they accepted a deed to a covenanted lot.
Those whose lot has expired will just have to suffer through this mess until the Board is replaced or the Covenants expiration is adjudicated and SLohA either becomes "Voluntary" or mixed "Voluntary/Mandatory. By that time, SLohA will have at least 3 faux elections and potentially ALL the current directors could fail re-election and be replaced.
Unless anyone wants to attempt a RECALL of directors. Anyone? Pleeeeeeease!

This New Annex Building has many flaws, the biggest flaw is the interior layout. What a big waste of space in the floor plan. This floor plan was the Idea of a want a be Amature Designer. That did not want help or suggestion from the members. Their Ego was to big for any suggestion, from Master Craftsmen residing in SLR. The same thing can be said for The Tkr Paving Project and the New Floating Pier. The Contractors just do as they please, and want you get is subpar workmanship. We got the short end of the stick just on these 3 Major Projects.. Crazy Times !!!

Hear that the panels on the wall ARE NOT deadening the sound. D Brnd wants to install more. There is also the discussion of doing something with the ceiling. What a mess D and this Manbod have made. Correction after correction and still not user friendly. Also note the placement of the air returns---behind the women's door when left open. BY THE WAY: No one likes to see toilet commodes when playing cards or doing art projects, etc.

OWNER ALERT! Who owns Memorial H all? Who makes the decisions on how rooms are used? Why are residents being shut out of the process of room utilization?
Memorial H all has side rooms that are locked and only housing stuff. Today another event occurred WITHOUT resident input. The Book Exchange area has been totally dismantled. No books. And, all shelves removed. Will the puzzle area be next? That means we have one room locked for historical storage. One room for the exclusive use of the poker group that meets only once a week. And a library that is going down to a one day open per week schedule next month. In addition, The main area has been stripped of most of its tables and chairs. Come on, this is not a ghost town after April 1st. Over 200 of us are now living here year round.
So now we have our own version of STORAGE WARS. SLR Management has kicked he clubs out of the back garage area. SLR management is making Memorial H all less user friendly. Perhaps the laundry will be attacked next.

Since we do not have use of the common areas which, by the way, Owners never voted to build this poorly-designed structure which replaced a moldy unpermitted single park model, should owners be forced to pay to maintain a climate-controlled facility for various storage projects and be excluded from using the rooms? (Remember that bylaws--which did not expire with the covenants--require owners to vote on any project whose cost exceeds $25,000. But when did SLohA follow its own, much less the common laws of the land?) Maybe SLohA needs a judge to decide if there is basis for financial relief for resident owners who were forced to pay for, but do not have access to, this common property. Maybe a judge WILL someday decide this, and other matters such as the trespassing towers, in the future.
Park property "rehabilitation" happens predictably as soon as the snowbirds leave. The Management starts functional dismantling of facilities it decides is too expensive to maintain during the summer months when only the residents remain, and does other property modifications without owner input or oversight. Everyone benefits from (undocumented and probably dubious) savings but only the fulltime residents bear the burden of not having facilities available.
And not to be forgotten--the Post Easter NastyGrams--Management sends out nasty letters about condition of properties which do not adhere to an invisible and nonexistant standard set by agents unknown and unacknowledged. I wonder what it will be this year... the roof of the carport is not the same color as the house? unsightly sun reflective material on windows? weeds in the cracks of your driveway? unapproved yard decor? Or the continuing favorite: stump needs paint?
Will the fountain be turned off…will trash cans and trash bins overflow at the maintenance yard and add to the nearly-unbearable SaddleStench?…will new piles of construction debris will be "stored" in various areas?…will work on improving/expanding stab's towers commence by non-contractor workers as in the past?…will we still have weekly hot dogs socials sponsored by the Booster Club???..will the trees be de-limbed for storms/internet signal?… will special drainage projects be started? and --NEW THIS YEAR—will Management company abandon the "new" SLR website (which is nearly DOA now from lack of timely and meaningful content unless you want to look at pictures)?
Wouldn't it be really GREAT if Management company would work on something EASY, INEXPENSIVE and would benefit EVERYONE EQUALLY--like setting up electronic balloting this summer? They already have a reported 38% of the members "enrolled" on the new website, so they are almost halfway there with an email database! YES MANBOD--YOU CAN DO IT!

I posted before getting all the facts. I stopped by the office today for an explanation. Shn informed me that the book exchange was being relocated to the recreation building as people were mixing the official library books with the exchange books. It is hoped that the change will benefit all. I wonder why this was not part of the manager's report on Monday? Communication, Communication, communication.
