Just happen to have a Drs Appt. today, and was driving out of the Park on S-bag Lake County Road. When I got to RT. 60, to my left near the SLR's Entrance Sign, was 2 SLR employees and the old SLRs rag tag van. That would be one of the Old Ugly Vans, they use as a work truck, it is without any Florida License Plates. Now most people know that you can not operate a vehicle on a county road, if the vehicle does not have any current License Plates. Well, I called the office to inform the temp manager about the situation, but he was on the phone. So a employee who works under Jhn's supervision, preceded to tell me, SLR cuts the grass on both side of the County Rd. leading out of the Park to Rt. 60. I stated that was great, but cutting the grass does not give them permission to drive our dilapidated un-license van on a Polk County Rd., well they do it all of the time. But that does not make it right either.
I said you can drive a tractor, mower, moped, bike and maybe a golf cart, but you can not drive a vehicle with out any current license plates .
You can not make-up all of the Crazy Things That Management Allows to happen in SLohA. Do they not realize the liability if that old van was involved in a accident, like hitting a child riding a bike, or walking along the road. Having a accident involving another vehicle. You would have a very costly law suit, that SLR's Residents would eventually have to pay the cost. Only In SLR !!! O-Yes, Look, you can see the Sunoco, lets go get a honey bun and a coffee, we are almost there anyway, and it will just take a minute or less.
I Do Think Polk County's Finest Would Call Driving A Motor Vehicle on a County Rd. With-Out Any Tags is a VIOLATION ... O-Yes!!! But Officer, we cut the grass on both sides of the County Road.....
