I suppose this is the appropriate thread for budget comments; here are the questions I had after looking over the Cash Disbursement report requested for June, July and August.
I have shortened the payees ID to avoid identification through search engines.
Importantly, the disbursements from RESERVES were not provided. Only the operating budget.
6/13 $6616 Attorney "legal"
7/12 $1000+ Attorney "general rep"
8/15 $455 Attorney "General representation
Over $8000 in legal fees--so far.
Ars Gof book $259 What is this?
August $490 to Bxxxxxxx Sept
July almost $3000 to Bxxxxxx Sept for sludge removal
August almost $2000 to Bxxxxxx Sept for sludge removal
Our sludge removal has cost over $5500 for 3 summer months. Seems like a lotta sludge buildup for the few people in the park during the summer
$10,000 progress billing audit
What is that? Is that the same thing as the outrageously expensive annual audit?
Over $1000 to exclude rodents and it's not working...
$600 Deposit on more landscaping
Over $2500 to Add flood lights to pool?? It already looks like a parking lot!
6/28 480.54 Install laundry lights
7/12 2492.33 Laundry lights
That's almost $3000 on laundry lights! What happened in there?
6/13 $4532 Snbk "Misc Accts"
7/12 $4752 Snbk "Maintenance/Supplies"
8/5 $3724 Snbk "Maintenance Supplies"
We need a better accounting of expenses for the size of these expenditures, which are presumbly batched and therefore, invisible. If these are recurring expenses, they should have a line in the budget. I wonder how much was spent on Fancy Feast from Publix.
July almost $500 to Bxxxxxxx Sept for "sand pit @ swimming pool" ?
8/15 $452 to G Service "Misc Supplies"
7/26 $411 to G Service "No notation"
This is a uniform company. Seems like a lot of money for uniform/tee shirts? Also, we are hiring a lot of lawn and grounds maintenance help and temporary workers and I would think lawn people would have their own uniforms. Do we still have employees or has everything been contracted out to temp agencies and maintenance companies? Anyone know? I think I want to go into the tee shirt business with SLohA as a customer...
July $874 Phase II of the marina. Out of operating budget--why?
Aug $2100+ to Txxxxx for ashpalt and limerock--For What? Is this an operating expense or part of annex cost?
(Mis-statement of these kinds of costs have been known to artificially inflate the Operating Budget).
June D Lxxxxxx $900 for "public water supply report".
August $2316 (for June and July)D Lxxxxxx 2 months of engineering service
Is there a contract here? Does anyone know? It was my understanding he was only here for the water lateral project and to smooth Rooffled feathers because SLohA had not been property filing reports. Why do we need to continue pay an engineer? Are our water and septic leaks so bad to need constant oversight by an engineer? What do HOA's without a large budget do? Exactly what services are being performed?
