This is really Sad, what this Resident believes, it is apparent he does not read any of the threads on this SLR Resident Forum. I just read the letter from NorleeDee Brnd on the website, and couldn't agree more .
NONE, absolutely none of these " anonymous " people will tell anybody, that I can find, what it is that they want.
they have absolutely 0 suggestions for the betterment of S-bag.
Could one, or all of you sit down and write a 100 word essay telling the rest of us what we are missing, that you all seem to have picked up on?
The Board of Directors are your " partners " in this Resort and they have a vested interest in seeing that it thrives ( which it has done since the hurricanes of 2004)
If as much energy was put into solutions for the purported problems, as you put into hateful and malicious " stuff ", for lack of a better word that can be put on the website, then our great resort would be a really great place to live.
We have a large investment in S-bag, and would really like to live in harmony and peace.
PLEASE, JUST LET US KNOW WHAT YOU WANT.

Please note that leery Allison is the chairman of the Violations Committee. The BOARD and it's subsequent committees have positioned themselves to RULE property owners. And as Mr. D Brnd so aptly stated to one resident: "When you moved in here, you signed away All Of your rights."

Sir, instead of writing a 100 word essay I would much prefer to speak with you man to man, eye to eye. Anyone can say or act however they wish on paper, but for these matters at hand a private and personal sit down is truly warranted .
To be brief, its not about the community as a thing thriving, it's about people, retired people who want to live their retired lives without interference from those who feel that because they have a title that they have authority over each and every one of us residents.
Those of us that DO NOT need babysitting, DONT need anyone watching over us, DONT bend to improperly concocted signage and on the spot intimidation by board members despise these types of actions.
There are those among us that absolutely love SLR and I believe most all of us do. I wonder sometimes why so many people in SLR have a scowl or display the "sour puss" look?
I seriously doubt that any of the "sour pusses" would be able to read a 100 word essay and be able to understand it in its entirety. Each person has their own mind as to what they expect from life, there are some that feel since they pay fees and allegiance to either the manager(joke) and/or the board of directors (bigger joke) that they no longer need to think for themselves at all.
This is unacceptable, it is not normal and shows that some wish to give up all freedoms at the whim of others who will take advantage of the situation at hand up to and including violating people rights to the persuit of happiness due to their personal lives being hollow.
Hearing someone say to me "if you don't like it leave" I say in return "if you want yourself and your environment totally controlled you should consider moving to a nursing home"
I personally have a huge investment in SLR, not my tin shack or little piece of ground that I/we reside upon full time, my investment is to enjoy all there is here. That is more than what anyone else seems to be doing so far. The great outdoors, wildlife, the moon & stars and people.
I have no complaint or opinion of what anyone else wants to do as long as they, in their absolute boredom decide that they need to watch others and think of a reason to complain and voice their opinion on something or someone when in all reality it is none of their business to have an opinion.
Last but certainly not least, so SLR has come back from the hurricanes, big woop. That was 8 years ago, get over it. I survived the 1964 Alaska Earthquake, lost friends, my parents had to move and all this was when I was a boy. I GOT OVER IT, you don't see me crying or displaying a "sour puss" all the time, ever!
Either step into the future or get left behind in the past, its all up to you. Unless of course, you prefer to have someone tell you what to think, what to do and when to do it.
I am reasonably sure that I typed more than 100 words, I suggest that a few of you get together and help each other to understand the words that I have typed.
Maybe a better question to be asked is this: Who are you to ask, and why do you feel you are owed an answer? MYOB

Jm said it best and there is very little to add. leery can learn all that is needed to answer his own question, if that is really what is desired, by reading the forum. Alternatively, he can talk to anyone man-to-man or man-to-woman which is, perhaps, the best approach since issues are complex and long-standing. This has been invited before in May 2013 (Tg invited Brdun), but BOD refuses to speak to owners one-on-one.
leery; one thing that would be refreshing to see in S-bag is respect and observance of the law--not S-bag-style rule by intimidation ---but the law. For starters, there is NO AUTHORITY in our Declaration, established under FS617, for a Violations Committee. So, remove your cloak of intimidation and recognize the law. The Board is recognized. The Management Company is recognized. But this Committee and your position is NOT RECOGNIZED.
As long this Management company--the Vendor creating the conditions and operating the chaotic and expensive environment in here for the last 3 years--keeps trying to shove non-existent and unlawful enforcement tactics down the throats of owners, this community will be in constant conflict.
Please note: Our Guests have the freedom to speak as they wish, to reveal their identities-or not-as they wish. There is nothing wrong with choosing to post anonymously. People in SLR have been intimidated and harassed mercilessly in the past and are understandably hesitant to stick their necks out by revealing identity. You are free to consider or dismiss the content independently of the writer. This Forum has regulars who are easily identified and it is unnecessary to keep signing your name after each comment.

I would have to say that what all owners want is respect, and all the rights and privileges of owning property and to be able to do with their property what they want within the scope of FAIR RULES AND REGULATIONS, and this certainly includes minor variances being considered for certain owners because of the shape of their lots.
A lot of owners also want to be heard and their ideas for our community recognized--instead, BOD's are prone to NOT answering owners questions at meetings or told they are "beating a dead horse" or they are told to "sit down" &/or "shut-up" &/or "get a life."
I also know that a lot of owners want more, and clear and concise answers regarding our finances and this manager and this board are UNWILLING TO SUPPLY OWNERS WITH FINANCIAL INFO THEY HAVE REQUESTED.
This kind of display from our leaders just shows how closed-minded they are and NOT willing to work with residents, which is a crying shame compared to the way previous boards have helped this community.
I have to say that people like Mr. Allison who ask this type of question are totally unaware of what is really going on behind the scenes, such as with these law suits and all the unnecessary harassment towards several owners. He is obviously believing everything he has been spoon-fed by the current board and manager, and does NOT want to believe anything or anyone else who is speaking out about the injustices levied upon owners, and the FACT THAT THIS MANBOD HAS BROKEN SEVERAL LAWS, AS WELL OUR OWN R & R's.
I HOPE THIS HELPS TO ANSWER MR. ALLISON'S QUESTION...

The opening line clued me to the quality of thought to follow. Characterizing retired people as "haters"--a word employed by perennial adolescents as their catcH all term for "anyone who disapproves, jealous, or criticizes something" is sophomoric and meaningless. Sorry, with regard to emails, you are certainly entitled to your beliefs but you do not have the facts. All email addresses published on SLohA media--Bulletin Boards, S-bag Express, KoffeeKlatch, CHUG--whatever---are the records property of ALL S-bag OWNERS. Electronic mailing addresses do not belong to CHUG or to the B O B S--they belong to Owners. All emails were provided by CHUG--the official website of SLohA-- and included in NewsHound mailings several years ago. This was disclosed on the Newsletter, though that was not required by law.
For your information, Florida Statutes 720.303(3)(g) states:

Owner email addresses are part of the OFFICIAL RECORD--which ALL owners have the right to have. An owner who does not wish to receive any notice by electronic means may revoke permission TO THE ASSOCIATION. Notwithstanding to whom notice is to be delivered, my newsletter mailer, in accordance with federal spam laws, provides a means to Unsubscribe from a mailing list. Your electronic address is currently unsubscribed from the newsletter list, but remains in SLohA's Official Records database unless and until you notify SLohA to remove it.

I can sum it up in one word, leery... Fairness!
We want the rules of this community administered impartially - not based upon whether you're part of - or friends with - the ruling clique. We want to be able to make our own choices on internet service rather than being forced to subsidize the choice of some who voted for the internet proposal of KCNET - despite the fact that there are members of this community for whom the additional $15/month represents a genuine financial hardship - simply because they would save a few bucks on their own internet bill and (incidentally, I myself am a KCNET subscriber but I am willing to pay the additional amount myself rather than forcing my non-KCNET neighbor to subsidize my bill).
I am deeply concerned about the financial management of S-bag and I am frustrated at being "stonewalled" when I seek more details about our operating expenses or how our Board goes about selecting contractors for major capital improvement projects in order to assure we are getting quality work at a competitive price.
I keep wondering how it is that certain groups are given priority access to SLohA facilities without having to pay for that special privilege (e.g. the billiard room being off-limits while the Pool Club is having a tournament). I believe that, when a private club gets exclusive use of a S-bag facility, they should be paying a facility rental fee to reimburse the rest of us.
I am alarmed when I witness a non-employee using S-bag motorized equipment for the benefit of his club. If an injury were to occur, you can bet that S-bag's insurance carrier will deny the claim.
As others have already noted, leery, there is a change a-coming. Regardless of the outcome of the lawsuits, the shifting demographics of S-bag will eventually result in a new voting majority who come from a different background and have a different set of cultural values. These Baby Boomers will demand that S-bag be run like a business instead of a social club which displays favoritism towards those who are part of the clique. Then, when the "old timers" start complaining about the loss of their special perks & privileges, it will be the new arrivals saying "if your don't like it, leave!"

leery, How about our leaders start telling the residents of SLR , the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but The Truth.
Presently our Leaders do not care to listen to anyone who seeks the the Truth, but soon all will be told, and it can be shared on Chug's Current Issues.
