Here is the UNOFFICIAL rundown of the meeting from the audiorecording. It sounded so bad that I would guess that the sound system was not working or not on. I could hear very little content of note and owners apparently did not use the microphone. Toneesha was speaking pretty much on "automatic" and very, very fast. Even with good audio, it would have been difficult to hear.
Budget Meeting Dec 10, 2014
Q from Male: Administrative line about … Toneesha interrupts and continues to talk and the question was not heard. Toneesha spoke very quickly and generally about the administrative line item.
Reserve schedule review by Toneesha:
Building Section each one is separate, highlight the area with any changes. (Toneesha speaks very quickly and it is hard to hear what she is saying)
Equipment: Not many changes, any questions?
Very superficial “review” of items on each page
Next page…not many changes…any questions on that page?
Q from Male: could not hear—
(Editor: It doesn’t sound like the sound system was on or working. Could not hear anything and Toneesha speaks very fast. She just says there’s no change or recites the change highlighted on the sheets and then says “Any questions on that?”)
Q from male: she said something about “cost appraising” I believe this was talking about the tennis courts. Reply unintelligible.
Q from male: Toneesha said something about estimation over 25 years and went into some explanation about adding up figures which resulted in a negative #
Q from male: Why didn’t it come out of the Reserve fund? Toneesha: It did.
Auto Vehicles: No major change, general comment, Any questions on that?
Internet towers: Added in. No questions? Some question but could not hear it.
That’s it. The pages are added up.
Budget Breakdown $510 (425 + 25 + 60)
Question from female: Actual Difference between last year and this proposed—can it be highlighted?
Question: 20% water assessment increase combination of both Reserve and Operating what is the percentage 50/50 or 80/20? I don’t have the figures in front of me. Water & sewer line from last year difference is about $20K there but primarily Reserves. Money going into General Fund can it be used for anything? You could use it for anything? We would use Contingency Fund if it didn’t fit in a line item. It’s all part of operating budget? It’s allocated.
Question from Male: Reserve Comment about allocating a schedule. Just something to point out. <<Clapping>>
Q Legal Fees: Two lawsuits against Associations? One from the Association. There are two lawsuits. Support the and been on the BOD before. But doubling of legal costs—what’s going to happen in the future. What strategies are in place to contain increases in legal fees? She did not address the question. Hard for her to say because we only have knowledge today. Additional question to the Board: We cannot comment on the lawsuits. They are not in court yet, no dates set, don’t know when they are going to get into court. Lawsuits against Association; one is about validity of R & R and dealing with MRTA. That’s about all I can say.
She does a great job, folks, <Clapping>
