Can someone pray tell me why our BOD's are spending member's money on Towers in SLR, that the Association "does not own". Our Money has been spent on a Engineer's Study of the KCNet Communication Towers located on SLohA's Common Property. (Aprox. cost $3,500).
Now Our Trusted Leaders at Wednesdays Board Meeting, voted unanimously to pay a Contractor to reinforce/upgrade poles and wires that support KCNet's Communication Towers on SLR's common property, by the way, the KCNet Towers do not have any County Permits to be placed on any property, any where in Polk County. (Aprox cost $5,000).
By what authority, gives our present BODs the right to preform these actions? Our BODs would like you to believe SLohA owns KCNet's Towers. The Member's in SLR are being mislead, plus have you notice that the lines of Communication have been closed down. SLR's Workshops have disappeared, Workshops are now for our Privileged Board Members Only.
"We Need New Leadership in SLohA, and The Time For Change is Now !" ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

I have the audio recording and will post "soon". I have been quite busy with preparations for the MRTA Seminar on Sunday and put the unofficial minutes transcription on the back burner. Attachment DeletedIt's a FIRST! Notification of a SERIOUS owner business matter is posted on the marquee?! (Has anyone ever wondered why reminders of monthly board meetings are never announced on the marquee?)

Owners: Please vote against ratifying the 2015 budget allocation of Assessments to Reserves--at the very least.
BOD/Management has allocated owner assessment monies to the maintenance and replacement of KCNet communications towers that:
1- were illegally built on our common property and for which SLohA has been cited for violation by Polk County
2- comprise a prohibited commercial business in our neighborhood for which we are also cited for violation by Polk County
3- do not belong to SLohA
4- represents a liability to the corporation without indemnification by the private business owner
5- burdens the corporation with long-term capital obligation that was never duly adopted by membership
6- burdens the corporation with a future lawsuit and huge legal costs
7- opens Pandora's box--what additional businesses will be conducted from SLohA property in the future?
By ratifying the portion of the budget allocated to Reserves--which includes tower maintenance and replacement--owners will have assumed ALL the liabilities and costs of remedying the multiple violations of Polk County Land Planning and Building Codes for the next year and will open the door to a passive acceptance of a highly suspect and illegal business activity within our subdivision. Further, ratification of this financing plan by owners will further complicate the course and cost of future litigation.
Pass the $40 increase for unsubstantiated "increased water costs" if you like, but please THINK HARD before adopting an expensive infrastructure that belongs to a private enterprise! THINK HARD about the implications of financing a private business as part of common property and what that means in future assessment fees.
Say NO to the Budget Allocation to Reserves!
