I have been asked to transcribe and post Gngr's spontaneous and heartfelt appeal to members during the Seminar:
Ladies and gentlemen: Unfortunately, when the board sued us, many of you were here last spring when I tried to I explain how I read the rule in the covenants that allowed for porches because it wasn’t enclosed and so forth etc. It then became a them-us. When they finally sued us, they sued us for our future earnings, they sued us for everything we own or will own in the future and … we have it in writing and if you want to come to the house we can show you what it says.
But the point is, it turned us into a them/us and we aren’t—we are a S-bag community. We love it here we want to be here and just want to know “what did all this mean?” We didn’t know when we bought in that our title had expired. We didn’t know that at all. We didn’t plan on anything happening just as you didn’t. Many of you sitting here right now do not fall under the covenants because your titles have already expired and no one was there to revitalize them.
So, we need to have a real strong organization of all of us to march ahead-not half who think we are bad guys and half who think we are good guys . Doesn’t it remind you of junior high school? We are not all good or all bad. We did’nt know how that worked I have a degree in clinical social work and worked with many, many people who had many bad situations happen to them. In this case, I think the MRTA law was the bad thing that happened to all of us. We all got caught in it. We didn’t know what it was and the board didn’t know what it was or they would have done it the way it was supposed to be done.
So, rather than talk about who can S u e who and who can’t and how much money you’re going to get out of it or not, you notice we have formed a charity for the people here who are unjustly served or for people who need anything like shopping done. We started a charity for S-bag members because we love it and we don’t want to see this happen to anyone--let alone Lra and I who have suffered terribly. We just ask from this point on not to act like junior high….Let’s have S-bag be the dream place we want it to be. All we have to do is go forward in a human kindness way.

Loosing the security of governing documents is a major loss to many within S-bag. It is equivalent to any major loss. For that reason, I am posting the five St ages of dealing with loss or grief. 1. Denial 2. Anger 3. Bargaining 4. Depression 5. Acceptance Here at S-bag many residents are experiencing one of the first three. Very few have made it to #5. Hopefully, the denial/anger phase noted on the current events page of the official S-bag Lake Resort webpage under current events will pass and leery Allison and others will finally accept that under Florida Law the Covenants, Rules and Regulations are null and void and have been for several years. Get behind the Board sponsored movement to Revitalize. Let's move forward.
