Question; How does one play a legal game of Bingo when bingo ball # 58 is missing in action? Happened at SLR's Bingo Games on Friday, Feb.13th. Is that a advantage to some players and a disadvantage to other players? Anyone have a clue?
(Note: Date above should have said Bingo Games on Friday, Feb.6th.)

How do you know that the ball was missing?
If true, that would be a Very Serious violation of Gaming Laws.

Why would you want to start this rumor they announced at the start of bingo the balls were new replacing the broken set. If you recall the game ran very slow and the caller stated she hoped the balls would be faster after the got more use and the newness wore off

The original post did not talk about a new set of balls or the speed of the balls for the caller; it was very specific about a missing ball. You ignored the actual question in your reply.
Even if a missing ball was due to a new set, it does not mitigate that the Florida Gaming Law was seriously violated. But before coming to any conclusions, wouldn't it be prudent to gather more information about the allegation before calling the FL Attorney General or crying "Rumor"?
So...why would you want to assume the poster is rumor-mongering about conditions not even mentioned before getting more pertinent facts about the alleged missing ball #58?

I believe for the last 2 weeks the "Bingo Machine had Problems. The ball counter was not working. The Bingo Machine was not working correctly, Ball# 58 was not available for play. So all Bingo players got a Free #58 if it was present on their Bingo Cards. The question was asked; Why has the Bingo Machine been broken for the last 2 weeks? Answer by a Bingo Official; "It cost $2400 to replace."
Can it be fixed, was not asked.
So I assume the Bingo Account is below $2400.
PS. Fact, Not A Rumor

#1 Ball 58 was missing on Friday Feb.6 not Friday Feb. 13 FACT #2 Bingo caller on Friday Feb.13 stated that the broken ball 58 had been replaced with a new set of balls for Friday Feb. 13th bingo FACT I would have never replied if the person had stated the missing ball 58 on the correct date thus starting a rumor after the problem had been fixed

Bingo wont be an issue if the board gets slr's PUD changed to a mix community. its just one more thing that management will take away from our gated over 55 private resort.

SaddleViewer you are correct. I made a mistake. The #58 ball was not in play on Feb.6th, if you had a #58 on any cards they were marked as first ball called in every game. Feb.13, Bingo the Bingo Balls were replaced with new balls. But the bingo machine had issues with the new balls. Plus the Bingo ball counter was not working on Fri. Feb.13. A question was asked to a Bingo Official about fixing the machine, $2400 for a new machine, end of story. Sorry for the confusion, My Bad !

saddleviewer posted: I don't believe you. Why didn't you just respond to the original question instead of chattering on about new balls and a slow game? You changed your story and "came correct" only when cH allenged. The fact of the date on which this happened is incidental. The fact that it happened is a big problem.
And, FYI, the "problem" has not been fixed. The violations by SLR Bingo remain uncorrected and are getting worse. Not verifying a full set of balls is a serious violation of the gambling law.
There is NO circumstance under which Florida permits a game to be conducted unless all balls are present and independently verified just before the start of the game. The law makes no provision for a homemade "fix" if a ball is missing. The operation of SLR Bingo was, once again, jeopardized by lack of understanding that Bingo is not a game. It is a highly regulated gambling activity!
The Bingo Committee continues to ignore Florida's gaming law. That is a problem that has caused Bingo to be subject to TWO investigations by the state in the past several years. In both cases, SLR was forced to repay the Bingo proceeds for funds improperly diverted.

If the Bingo Committee continues to ignore Florida's Statues on Bingo, SLohA will not have permission to operate Bingo within S-bag. The current Bingo Committee, and some Board Members are to arrogant (know it all) to follow Florida Statues on Bingo. One day it will bite um in the butt, and I will be the first resident to say: "I told you so".
