Admin gets questions from people about the monthly "Around the Stump" newsletter, i.e. how many people read it? Admin receives lengthly statistical reports for each issue from the host website, mailchimp.com and I set up this board to share some of that information with you.
First, the "Around the Stump" newsletter was started last October 2014; at that time, I had no idea how to do mass mailing newsletter and my SEND finger was a little shaky when I launched the first edition! Admin tries to get it out on the 1st of each month. Nine editions and reports later, I know who is reading linked content on the forum and how many people are reading each linked thread.
The most important trend I noticed was that, as Newsletter OPENS decreased, Resident Forum VIEWS increased. Of the 324 delivered, 51% were opened. This suggests that readers have already bookmarked the forum and do not need to open the Newsletter because they know it contains links they have already read! The number of forum registered members has increased significantly since the Newsletter was launched.
According to the website host, the Newsletter far outstrips other categories in its genre as well as general statistics across the board for ALL newsletters. The OPENS are a little over 50% and the industry averages about 18%. (An "OPEN" is just opening your email.) Of the opened emails, 44.3% clicked on a linked post. (A "CLICK" is clicking the blue url that navigates you to the forum board.) Here are the most clicked links in order of # clicks:
1- real estate sales 64
2- official minutes 35
3- revitalization and DEO 30
4- UNofficial minutes 30
5- 1986 minutes 19
There was one Unsubscribe and one "bounce" (dead email address). After 9 months, the List is "clean" and Bounces and Unsubscribes have declared themselves.
Admin is always on the lookout for a nice newsletter feature photo of the park, so if you have one, let me know. Even if it is not the best, sometimes the miracle of photo editing can make it look great! Send to Saddlebagger
