I do not think many Owners new about the BOD Meeting or Attended the meeting. Three of my friends, plus myself forgot about the Meeting. I keep looking for a Monthly Notice, which we do not have any longer. Just a Yearly Schedule about All Meetings in SLR on the PO Board, high in the upper corner. I may start putting a sign up 200 ft. outside of SLR's Gate... Yes, I Will, High in A Tree... ;-)

The discussion on the 20th was just acknowledging the existence of a proposal from K C N.
Discussion will supposedly take place at the December Workshop.
This seems to be a repeat of recent history. I do recall that the Board SWORE in a Workshop that there was not going to be park-wide internet and then the next month, it was on the ballot and funds were set aside to pay the initial year (which funds morphed into the Catastrophe/Contingency Fund after the ballot proposal was defeated).
There was a huge defect (among several) in the way this played out in 2011-12--the lie was recognized and confidence disappeared. Even people that voted FOR the internet hated to vote Yes.
Here we go again. Last minute proposal that will blend in with the Budget, Election and holidays. And significant cost overruns on projects. And yet another costly sewer project And an increase in assessments. Great planning.

Just a note to all ye peeps out there interested in upcoming board meeting dates, I checked the board last night and found that:
December's meetings are on 12/3/13 and 12/18/13.
January's meetings are 1/7/14 and 1/22/14.
February and March's meetings are both on the 4th and 19th of those 2 months.
Just thought I'd inform the masses so no one on here misses those meetings if they so desire to be in attendance.

Could our wonderful administrator give us more details of this resort wide internet proposal @ $15/lot?
I sure hope this isn't like the last one where they were shoving it down people's throats by EVERYONE having to pay B.S. for his B.S. internet proposal and that was $10/per month/per owner, even if you did want/need their internet brick put on your house!
(As everyone recalls, it was put on the ballot, narrowly defeated, then after everyone went back up North that Spring, all the towers went up everywhere in SLR.)

As soon as said "wonderful" admin knows more--you will know. Just wanted to get word out that it was announced in today's BOD Workshop but not much detail was given (no time--just AM).
One wonders why everything is "last minute" lately--still no proposed budget for next week's Budget meeting, no internet proposal published for owners to look over ahead of the presentation meeting, no proposed language on the carport ballot item (as far as I know, this has not been announced but it is a strong rumor).
No one believes anything spoken by MANBOD (except the Koolaid Gang). I would think MANBOD might get written material out quickly to avoid generating even more suspicion.

Didn't we all vote down the $10 per month Internet Extortion Fee before ?
By repealing the Fee reduction there will be $78,000 more to spent and if you multiply the Internet Extortion Fee by the number of lots that also a large number.
VOTE NO on the Budget and tell your friends as well .
WHY SHOULD WE PAY FOR WHAT WE DONT NEED OR WANT ?
Send these wanna be extorsionists a message . VOTE NO on the Budget

Here is what the Internet Extortion Fee will put into the pockets of the Business known as KAYCEENETTS operating in SLR.
$15.00 per month per unit (787units) X 12(months) = $141,660 into private pockets
that works out to be $180 per year added to your fee on top of the $100.00 increase due to the removal of the Fee reduction.
That equal a total increase of $ $280. per year ABOVE what you are paying now .
SLR owners voted down the Internet Extortion Fee of $10 per year a while back, Vote it down Again .

The majority of the owners that I've talked too have made it very clear they don't want an Internet Amenity provided by the IN PARK provider .
Out of 50 people polled, they all have their own hook up from a Major provider and cant see any reason to pay more for something they don't need nor want.
Several Elderly Ladies and couples don't even own a computer and are scrimping by monthly as it is and feel that it would create more hardship financially to put $15 in someone else's pocket per month ($180 per year) when they need that $15per month for food and medications .
So the good news is that many SLR folks DONT want added costs to them and will not vote to approve the internet extortion fee .

The pulse of my peeps is very similar ie everyone that wants internet already has it and is satisfied. Most are in and out of the park and need a mobile internet service and they use mifi.
